POONCH, June 16: A tearful adieu with full Military honours was given to the 44 RR soldier, Aurangzeb at his native village Salani in Mendhar on the occasion of Eid this evening.
A large number of people from all walks of life, including Army and Civil officers besides local MLA Javed Rana, BJP MLC Pardeep Sharma attended his last rites. The body, wrapped in National Flag arrived at Balnoi helipad in a helicopter at around 2.30 pm and then taken to his native village in an Army vehicle. A large number of family members, relatives and villagers besides Army jawans had already gathered there.

SDM Mendhar, Commanding officer of local 39 RR, SDPO Mendhar Riaz Tantray, SHO and several other Army officers received the dead body of brave soldier and paid their respect. The burial took place at Salani village at around 5 pm. The youth raised anti-Pak slogans and vowed to take revenge of the sacrifice of Aurangzeb.
Pall of gloom descended the village when the dead body of Aurangzeb arrived at his home. Every one at the village was in tears. There was no Eid in this village today and every one was waiting for the arrival of dead body of this brave soldier since morning.
CO of 39 RR laid wreath on behalf of GOC and Northern Army Commander. Several Army officers also paid their respect the brave soldiers. MLA Mendhar Javed Rana also participated in the last rites.
Aurangzeb who was kidnapped by militants from Shopian and killed on June 14, was coming home via Mughal Road in private vehicle in civil dress. He was dragged out of the vehicle at gun point and taken to forest where he was shod dead after his interrogation by militants. His dead body could not be shifted to his village on Friday due to bad weather.
