POONCH, Feb 24: PDP leader, Nadeem Rafiq Hussain Khan has alleged that dozens of villages in Mendhar Sub Division lack basic facilities.
Advocate Nadeem, who is up in arms against the District Administration Poonch, has alleged that the Administration has virtually failed to address the problems of common masses in the area.
” The entire area has been deprived of all basic facilities and has a poor drainage system. MGNREGA labours have not been paid for the last several years. Water logging has created massive problem and dilapidated roads have added woes to the general public. The electricity supply position is also worst.”
“The Power Development Department (PDD) has never erected electric poles in many villages and cables are tied on the trees there. There are some areas which remain plunged into darkness for months after minor damages to the transformers,” he added.
Khan further said, ” We people from Mendhar are disappointed with the PDD as the electric wires are fraught with danger and can lead to a mishap. These electric lines are passing through rooftops of the houses and tied with trees but the department is least bothered about the safety of the people.”
