Mental Health Programme held at Caset School

Srinagar Aug 7: In order to educate the youth about drug abuse and its adverse effects on the society, Police Drug De-addiction Center conducted another School Mental Health programme at Caset Higher Secondary School Karan Nagar here, a police spokesman said.
The team of professionals which included counselors and social worker headed by counseling psychologist Ashraf Sultan started the programme. More than 200 students of the school participated in the programme.
The spokesman said that in the first session, social worker, Manzoor Ahmad Yatoo, spoke about the severity of the problem of drug addiction and the treatment facilities available at Drug De-addiction Centre Police Control Room. “He spoke about the early signs and symptoms, social factors of addiction and responsibilities of society in eradication of this evil,” the spokesman said.
In the second session of counseling, the psychologist Ashraf Sultan spoke about the problem of drug addiction how a person gets involved in drug addiction, what are various causes which lead to drug addiction and what are various means and measures which can help a person to stay away from drug addiction, the police spokesman said.
Counselors Ghulam Rasool and Ashraf Sultan held an interactive session also in which the students asked many questions and raised queries about drug addiction. “The queries raised by the students were answered in detail by the counselors,” the spokesman added.
