Mentally unstable woman killed, two injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, Sept 10: A mentally unstable woman was killed while two persons were injured today in three separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, an unidentified mentally unstable woman of age about 55 years was killed on the spot when a rashly driven unknown vehicle hit her at Kachryal Chowk in Pallanwala area of Akhnoor.
He said that the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for identification and postmortem while a case in this connection was registered at concerned police station and investigations started.
Meanwhile, a bike rider was injured when a rashly driven bike hit his motorcycle at Paloura on Jammu-Akhnoor road. The injured was identified as Constable Naresh Kumar son of Punjabu Ram, resident of Tanda (Akhnoor). He was presently posted at IRP 14 Battalion in Miran Sahib, Jammu. He was shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment while a case FIR No 283/2017 under Sections 279/337 RPC was registered at police station Domana.
A youth identified as Madhu Sudan (22) son of Subhash Chander, resident of Mendhar (at present Muthi) got injured when a scooty on which he was travelling, was hit by a speedy Swift car at Muthi. He was also shifted to GMCH for treatment. The concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
