Mentha oil declines in futures trade on low demand

NEW DELHI, Aug 21:  Amid sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market and higher supplies from producing regions, mentha oil fell 0.61 per cent to Rs 714 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September moved down by Rs 4.40, or 0.61 per cent to Rs 714 per kg in business turnover of 255 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in August contracts lost Rs 4, or 0.57 per cent to Rs 701.50 per kg in 422 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators due to lower demand from consuming industries in the spot market against higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly kept pressure on mentha oil prices at futures trade. (PTI)
