Mentha oil futures down, hurts by sluggish demand

NEW DELHI, Aug 11:  Mentha oil fell for the second straight day and prices were down by another 0.34 per cent to Rs 944.40 per kg in futures market today as traders indulged in reducing their positions amid slackened demand from from consuming industries at spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September month fell by Rs 3.20, or 0.34 per cent to Rs 944.40 per kg in business turnover of 104 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in August contracts shed Rs 2.50, or 0.27 per cent to Rs 933 per kg in 445 lots.
Analysts said besides subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market, adequate stocks position on higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly kept mentha oil lower at futures trade. (PTI)
