NEW DELHI, Oct 16: Mentha oil prices fell 1.59 per cent to Rs 688.50 per kg in futures market today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
Besides, adequate stocks position in the physical market on increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh put pressure on prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October shed Rs 11.10, or 1.59 per cent, to Rs 688.50 per kg in a business turnover of 965 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in November lost Rs 10.40, or 1.47 per cent, to Rs 698.90 per kg in 230 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in mentha oil futures to profit-booking by speculators at existing higher levels and sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market. (PTI)
