NEW DELHI, June 15: Mentha oil prices rose 2.39 per cent to Rs 1,042 .90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by strong demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
Besides, tight stock position in the physical market on restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh supported the upside.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July contracts surged Rs 24.30, or 2.39 per cent, to Rs 1,042.90 per kg in a business turnover of 221 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in June contracts traded higher by Rs 23.70, or 2.36 per cent, to Rs 1,026.80 per kg in 636 lots.
Market analysts said restricted supplies from the producing region mainly pushed up mentha oil prices in futures trade. (PTI)
