NEW DELHI, Mar 19: Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 8.80 to Rs 1,177.70 per kg in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in spot demand.
The sentiment improved further on tight stocks positions in the physical market following restricted arrivals from producing area of Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March gained Rs 8.80, or 0.75 per cent, to Rs 1,177.70 per kg, with a trading volume of 524 lots.
The prices for delivery in April also higher by Rs 7.60, or 0.64 per cent, to Rs 1,180 per kg, with a business turnover of 113 lots.
Marketmen said a firming trend at the spot markets amid restricted supplies from producing regions, mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade here. (PTI)
