‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ program designed to honor martyrs: Kavinder

JAMMU, Sept 4: Kavinder Gupta, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, emphasized the obligation of every citizen to pay homage to the supreme sacrifice of martyrs. He asserted that ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ programe, is designed to honor the martyrs of the world’s largest democracy who laid down their lives in defense of the nation.
As part of the campaign ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ the senior BJP leader, along with others, visited at the residence of Parveen Kumar DySP, who attained martyrdom during the 2001 Amarnath Yatra, Gupta reiterated the importance of this patriotic initiative.
They collected soil from the premises, which will be sent to the National Capital.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta stated, “We salute the great martyr Parveen Kumar DySP and pay our heartfelt tribute to him for sacrificing his life for the cause of the nation and its people.”
He highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this campaign involves collecting soil from the homes, surroundings, statues, and memorials of martyrs at various locations across the nation, including Jammu & Kashmir. This soil will contribute to the creation of ‘Amrit Vatika’ in front of Rashtrapati Bhawan on ‘Kartavya Path’ (formerly known as Rajpath).
He also urged the people of the nation to join the campaign and pay tribute to the ultimate sacrifices made by the Military, Para, Police, and other forces in the service of the nation and its people.
Vinay Gupta, Rekha Mahajan, Ajay Gupta (Corporator), Narinder Koki, Pushpinder Singh, Parmod Chib, Kapil Khurana, and Nayan Gupta also joined the campaign.
