JAMMU, Mar 21: All J&K MGNREGA Engineers Association today urged the Government to frame a comprehensive job policy for them and propose their name in the committee for regularisation of their services and ensure salary hike.
The Association said that they were engaged as (Technical Assistants/JEs) in the department following a due recruitment process for the supporting staff by the District Selection Committee framed by the Department of Rural Development, Government of J&K in each district.
They further said that most of the employees have crossed their age limits and are not in a position to apply for fresh jobs as they gave their golden period to the department and they are utilising their services in the department with full dedication and running all schemes of the department i.e. Capex Budget, ABDP, Back to Village, SBM, MPLADs, RGSA, 14th FC etc for the last several years with a hope that they will get regularised in the department with the passage of time.
The Association urged the government to include their name in the committee recently framed by the government for regularisation of employees. They also urged the government to increase their salary with yearly increments, ex-gratia, provident funds etc and also to implement the Minimum Wages Act in J&K.
