The micromax yureka does not break new ground in terms of design but whatever we have is ok considering the price it is being offered at. Actually it looks better than redmi note but worse than Asus zenphone. The phone has dimensions of 154.80mm x 78.00mm x 8.80mm. The phone feels light .The back panel of the phone is rubberised which helps in comfortable hold phone . The logo has been give minimalist design with only YU symbol and micromax branding was nowhere to be found. The camera is placed at top left corner along with flash.There is only one colour option available Moonstone Grey.
Screen
Displays of smartphone are one of the most impotant features of any device. It is the prime way of interaction, for most people it is their doorstep into the world of mobile. We study display of every smartphone carefully because of their importance. The micromax Yureka contains Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and it has a 1280×720 resolution in an RGBG format at 267 ppi. The screen has gorilla glass 3 protection and also has Oleophobic Coating which is reason why touch screen felt very responsive. Asus zenphone has slighlty better touch than yureka though.
While screen is does not have as high resolution as many flagships today, but again at this budget 720p resolution is reasonable. The 5.5 inch display could have been made smaller 5inch to pack more pixels and inrease pixel density. But, yureka is fairly sharp fairly sharp. The screen of micromax yureka is average. The brightness of the phone is low overall. Also the the screen feels bit of cold. On the contrary the contrast level of the screen are good and colour saturation is good. The touch of the screen is smooth and great overall thre are five fingers supported at a time. the micromax yurek which means it is a 5-point touch.
Camera
The camera department gave mixed response. We would say a good job done overall if we neglect low light conditions. The rear camera is 13 MP and front camera is 5Mp
13 MP rear camera is based upon Sony IMX135 cmos sensor. The same sensor is also present in mi3. Also the camera features 5 piece Largan Blue Lens setup which helps in better colour accuracy.
The camera has F 2.2 aperture which is not something unique and present in many phones.
Now coming to real life results. We clicked few pictures from the phone. The 13 MP camera gave impressive results in dayligfht conditions.

The camera struggled a bit sceneic pictures but overall good job done by camera setup.
Indoor Light conditions
This is where things got worse for the camera. Unde Low light conditions the phone performed not so well. There was lot of noise in the pictures taken. Enabling flash was helpful in
the lowlight conditions which reduced the noise but added purple tinge to the photos. Overall low light performance is bit poor
Front camera
The camera on the front was actually pretty good. Images from the front camera looked like they may have come out of the rear camera of some phone but sadly the front camera lacks wide angle feature which makes front camera pictures cover wide area
Processor/graphics
Micromax yureka has much talked about 64-bit snapgragon 615 processor. The processor is octacore based on arm cortex a53 and has maximum clock speed of 1.5ghz. The processor also supports 4g
Octacore is surely helpul in many cases. The processor is a upgraded version of snapdragon 600. 2GB ram of the phone is one great addition to the phone.The phone offered solid allround performance.
Graphics department of phone contains adreno 405 which is a decent performing graphics core. The phone did well in real life graphics performance as it played all the games smoothly with only little bit stuters here and there in games like shadow fight which is very heavy game to play. So overall graphics performance is good.
Os/UI
Micromax yureka features cyanogen mod 11 which is based on android 4.4 kitkat. If you know anything about rooting. You definitely must being knowing about cyanogen which is considered as one of the best custom rom. This rom still has some more finishing to do. Lot of improvements here and there are needed before it is considered as full fledged UI. That said, it is very simple and clean ui and is highly customisable. is for yhis eom is famous. Also it is free from irritating apps and bloatwares present in samsung phones by default. As a result more storage is avaliable for use out of 16 GB internal storage.Cynogen mod is one graet usp of micromax yureka. Also cynogen has promised to give updates for two years which makes this phone even more valuable.
Battery
Battery life on a smartphone is one important aspect, but it is certainly not as high profile as a high resolution display or fast processor. But for some battery life is one major concern. The Micromax Yureka has the battery capacity of 2500 mAh, and al has a 3.8 V rating for a total of 7.04 Wh. With these internals the Micromax Yureka easily lasts for a day on a single charge, even with two SIM cards. we will give credits to cynogen here.
Conclusion
The Yureka is priced at Rs. 8,999 and availab exclusively on Amazon India. For the given price, the phone is excellent value for money. We would say it is better than Xiaomi redmi Note except in terms of battery backup. You get a good quality display, great overall performance, decent overall camera quality, and decent battery life. The hardware specifications are good and should last you for a couple of years at least and the operating system, courtesy of Cyanogen, is also feature-rich and user friendly but still needs more improvements .
