Sir,
Some schemes envisaged by the Government do not give desired results. Before formulating a scheme by the Government functionaries they should visualize its after effects, practicability. Vast vision is needed.
One of the schemes ”Mid-day Meal” scheme is likely to be got closed. So much money was spent, so many children fell ill, there were deaths, also. Basic problem with the scheme was practicability. If children have to be given incentive for joining schools their parents should be given some financial help/incentive. The money should go in the accounts of parents (Joint A/c of Parents with child) with the rider that A/c can be operated jointly by them when child passes atleast Higher Secondary level exam.
To avoid malnutrition of children some reputed agency can be engaged by Education Deptt which can supply required food items for school children. Any reputed caterer can play the role. Otherwise there should be separate staff plus required facilities in the school for preparation of on meals but that does not seem to be practical due to less infrastructural facilities in our schools and our work culture.
Yours etc….
