POONCH, Aug 3: The dead body of an unidentified middle-aged man was recovered from Betar river near Ajot village in Poonch this evening.
Official sources said that some villagers noticed the dead body flowing in the river and brought it to the river bank. The village Sarpanch and other people of the area gathered there after coming to know about the matter. They informed police at Poonch about the matter.
The police party led by SHO Poonch reached the spot after some time and examined the unidentified body. The body carried injury marks on head and forehead of the deceased. The victim seemed to be non-local in the age group of 40-45 years.The police shifted the body to the mortuary of District Hospital, Poonch and registered a case for investigation. Police said possibility of murder can not be ruled out. No missing report of man has been received by police in the area so far.
