MENDHAR, Oct 6: Mystery shrouds the death of a middle aged man whose semi-decomposed body was recovered from Suiyyan nallah in Dhar Galoon area of tehsil Mendhar in district Poonch today.
The deceased was later identified as Romesh Kumar (40), son of Krishan Lal, resident of Ari. The villager was said to be missing for the last 4-5 days. The family members were looking for him.
Some people noticed the body lying in the Suiyyan nallah and informed police. Many people gathered there and later the police examined the spot and shifted the body to Mendhar Sub-District Hospital for the conduct of legal formalities. A police spokesman said that body was lying in water and it was semi-decomposed. Some parts were also missing and seemed to have been eaten by an animal.
He further said that family members of the deceased were not in favour of postmortem and also approached the Magistrate. They claimed that Romesh was mentally unsound and he used to experience fits some times. The police was investigating into the case.
