KATHUA, Dec 13: A middle aged person was killed in a road accident when he was hit by a bus at Palli Morh on Jammu- Pathankot National Highway today.
The accident took place when a speedy Bus No JK02BV 8127 hit a scooty driven by Harvinder Singh, a resident of Bagial Morh, Kathua.
The injured was shifted to GMC Kathua in a serious condition where he succumbed to his injuries. His body was handed over to family members after postpartum.
Kathua Police has registered a case and arrested the driver and seized the bus. The eye witnesses said that due to construction of highway the traffic is diverted on single lane due to which there is heavy congestion of traffic on road causing regular road accidents.
The people asked the NHAI to restore double lanning on Highway keeping in view heavy traffic load to avoid regular road accidents.
