JAMMU, Mar 9: The Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) was conferred with Digital Campus Excellence Award for Innovation and Transformation at the Economic Times EduTech Awards.
The honor was presented in appreciation of MIET’s comprehensive digitization efforts, which included the automation of its entire campus and upskilling of its students & faculty through various significant digital initiatives. The award ceremony took place in Mumbai, where Prof Ankur Gupta, Director MIET and Ruchika Gupta, Joint Director MIET, accepted the award from Tarana Kaushik, Head ET Education and ET HR World India during the Edutech Summit organized by Times Internet, a division of Economic Times.
The ET Education EduTech initiative, propelled by Times Internet, aims to acknowledge and celebrate academic institutions and universities that excel in digital infrastructure, digital marketing initiatives and digital teaching methodologies in higher education. A prestigious panel, including directors from leading technical institutes like IISc, IITs and NITs, as well as CEOs and CTOs from notable corporations such as Aditya Birla, Tech Mahindra and HCL Technologies, assessed the nominations. Remarkably, MIET stood out as the sole higher education institution among a group of elite universities to receive accolades across various categories.
It is essential to highlight that MIET’s commitment to digital excellence is demonstrated through its implementation of several key digital initiatives. These initiatives align with the Government of India’s directives. This includes the incorporation of platforms like Coursera to promote education beyond the classroom, the launch of a mental health portal for the welfare of students and faculty, and the establishment of partnerships with over 30 industry leaders for upskilling and automation.
Dr Renu Gupta, Chairperson, MIER, expressed her appreciation for the leadership team of MIET for their national recognition.
