MIET organizes 2nd Int’l Conference on Next Generation Computing

JAMMU, Dec 20: The Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) organized the 2nd International Conference on Next-Generation Computing and Information Systems.
The highlight of the conference was the presence of four distinguished Computer Science Professors from the USA who delivered keynote addresses on day one of the conference. Prof. Ankur Gupta, Director MIET, presented the welcome address.
The conference attracted 112 paper submissions and 34 research papers were finally accepted, after a rigorous peer-review process, representing a 30% acceptance. The conference proceedings will be published by CRC Press, Taylor and Francis Group and indexed in Scopus database.
Prof. Sartaj Sahni, a globally recognized academician in computer science from the University of Florida, USA and a Fellow of the IEEE, ACM and AAAS, delivered the inaugural keynote address and spoke about fast reinforcement learning algorithms.
Prof. Upendranath Sharma Chakravarthy from the University of Texas at Arlington who is also an ACM Distinguished Scientist and an ACM Distinguished speaker. He presented multiple innovative works from his Distributed Systems Lab including Autonomous Video Situation Monitoring allowing users to query for objects/incidents of interest in video streams in real-time and the innovative use of multi-layer networks for complex data analysis.
Prof. Arif Sawat, Chaired Professor and Director of the FPL-FIU Solar Research Facility and Energy Power Sustainability (EPS) group at Florida International University. He spoke about the impact of Artificial Intelligence on High-Penetration Renewable Physical Infrastructure.
The second day of the conference witnessed four insightful paper presentation sessions by authors representing over 50 Universities and Institutions globally. The diverse range of accepted papers covered cutting-edge domains like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Cyber security, Met averse, Multimedia Processing, High-Performance Computing, Digital Twin, Remote Sensing, and Distributed Computing. Other dignitaries present on the occasion included Prof. S.K Sharma, Prof. G.S Sambyal, Prof. Devanand, Prof. B.C Sharma, Prof. Sahil Sawhney, Prof. Ashok Kumar, Prof. Ajay Khajuria, and Prof. Babar Afzal.
