JAMMU, Mar 11: The Department of Management Studies, Model Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jammu today organized the second edition of Netritva-The Business Festival at its Kot Bhalwal Campus, here.
The highlights of the Festival were two innovative forums organized for the first time i.e. the HR Forum and Entrepreneurship Forum, which involved panel discussions by experts on current issues and future directions.
Over 250 management graduates from The Business School, University of Jammu and satellite campuses, Central University of Jammu, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, IMS and MIET participated in the day-long event.
The event was sponsored by J&K Bank (Gold Sponsor), Royal Yamaha, ITC, Lava International, State Times, Jammu Links, 92.7 BIG FM, Bajaj Auto, NIIT, Max, Sachdeva Netralaya, Color Spa Lounge, Wave Mall, Oberoi Fun-n-Bowl, Osis Hair Dressing and Makeup, MV International School, Janta Food Ice Cream and The Civils.
The HR Forum saw Prof. B.C Sharma, Dean Placements, University of Jammu, Tamal K. Sarangi, Circle Head, HR, Aircel, Brig. B.K Chauhan, HR Manager, Cadilla Pharma, Kumar Sahil, HR Manager, Coca-Cola engaged in meaningful dialogue over pertinent human resources issues such as addressing the skill gap and attitude development in graduating students etc.
The students had a detailed interaction with the panelists on a wide-range of issues.
The panel for the entrepreneurship forum comprised Manik Batra, Director, Batra Group, Vasu Dewan, Head, Dewan Breweries, Siddharth Dogra, Director, Jammu Links and Virender Sharma, Director, MSME, Govt of India.
Both the Forums were moderated by Prof Ankur Gupta, Joint Director, MIET.
Principal MIET Prof. S.K Sharma presented welcome address, while Prof Brig PN Sharma, HoD Management Studies presented the vote of thanks.
The organizing committee of the Fest comprised Skhil Mahajan, Ankita Dewan, Pooja Sharma and Shivani Vaid faculty members of the Department.
The event got underway with the Business Quiz – Chankyas.
Prof Dipankar Sen, Head Economics, University of Jammu was the Quiz Master for the event.
The other events organized included the Ad-Mad Show, Entrepreneurial Pitch, Stock Market Gurus, punctuated with several cultural fillers, the photography contest and treasure hunt.
