JAMMU, Dec 17: A delegation of Migrant Contractors Association led by its president, Ashok Kumar Dhar and general secretary, S L Koul called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (RRC), M L Raina here, today and demanded immediate release of payments withheld by the organization for the works since completed by the contractors.
The delegation said that the contractors are suffering badly for non payment of dues and in case the same were not released immediately they will stop construction work and the authorities will be responsible for the same.
The other officers of the Department were also present in the meeting. The delegation said that there is no justification in not releasing the payment of the works already executed by the contractors.
The other members of the delegation were Parshotam Singh, Kishori Lal, Bansi Lal and Bushan Lal.
