Migrant Employees, Pensioners Forum felicitates Bakaya

NEW DELHI, Nov 8: Vijay Bakaya, MLC and former Chief Secretary was today felicitated by Migrant Employees and Pensioners Forum for his role in the deferment of J&K Government order directing migrant doctors and paramedics to join duties at Jammu.
The meeting, was attended by a large number of doctors and paramedics affected by the Government order. Roshan Lal Razdan, president of the Forum, with the positive role played by Mr. Bakaya, in this entire process the migrant employees got a sense of relief. He described Dr. Romesh Raina as the face of this struggle who with his efforts and effective follow up, took it to logical conclusion. Dr. Ashok Raina, general secretary of the Forum, who conducted the proceedings, expressed satisfaction over the whole exercise ending on a happy and positive note.
Dr. Romesh Raina later presented an update on the entire initiative taken by him in coordination with the Employees’ Forum and other colleagues. He apprised the meeting about the range of their meetings, representations and responses and how he carried along all the people involved at various levels to reach today’s stage. This, he added, could have not been possible without the active support of Mr. Bakaya and many others.
Mr. Bakaya explained at length about the process of his response to the whole issue right from the beginning by raising the matter in the legislature and extracting a promise from the Government on extension of the date of joining and constitution of a committee to look into the entire issue. He expressed his pleasure that after his intervention, the Government agreed to suitably modify its stand in the coming days that will take into account the present day realities. He was confident that the response will be to everybody’s satisfaction.
