Migrants concern over denial of ration

JAMMU, Aug 28: Durga Nagar Welfare Committee has expressed grave concern over denial of ration to Kashmiri migrants for last three months by the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.
The Committee, which met here today under the leadership of its president Roshan Lal Raina said that the Kashmiri migrants dependent on cash doles from Government are unable to bear the expenses of rice, flour and sugar from market on higher rates.
The meeting said that in view of the sky rocketing prices the migrants are unable to make their both ends meet as they have to bear the school expenses, of their children, rent of accommodations, medicines etc.
The meeting made appeal to Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary, Arun Kumar Mehta seeking their immediate intervention in the matter and urged them issue the directives to concerned authorities to release the ration to migrants immediately.
