JAMMU, May 17: Continuing their protest for the third consecutive day in front of Relief Organization the activists of various political and social organizations as well as associations of displaced Pandits today warned to continue the protest till demand is accepted.
Addressing the protestors, H L Pandita, chairman Migrant Cell PCC accused the Government of the present situation. He said had not the decision been taken in haste and a dedicated officer been made scape-goat, the situation would have not reached to this point. He also appealed all social and religious bodies of Pandits to join the present struggle to take it to logical conclusion.
He made an appeal to Minister of Relief Rehabilitation, Javed Mustafa Mir to rescind the decision immediately.
Some protestors torched their ration cards against the decision and high-handedness of the Government. Rajesh Sehgal president, Kashmiri Hindu Migrants Front who led them in torching the copies of ration cards against the Government decision said that their sentiments have been hurt after the Government action and warned if the order was not revoked the Hindu migrants will march to holy shrine of Tulmulla on foot and Government will be responsible for all consequences.
Meanwhile, KP Sabha president, K K Khosa, Prof A N Sadhu, a socio- political leader
and N C leader, Anil Dhar also joined the dharna today. They appealed the Government to rescind the order instead of playing with the sentiments of the migrants. Both the leaders met the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, M L Raina and urged him to take up the issue with Government and save situation from taking a critical turn. They also requested the youth leaders of community not to take any extreme step.
However the president of Sampooran Kashmiri Sangthan (SKS) Rakesh Kaul warned not to budge an inch from his resolve in case the demand was not accepted by the Government by revoking the attachment order of DC. He said Government has taken a wrong decision on false reporting of social media and acted in haste.
Others who addressed the protest included PCC Migrant Cell general secretary, C L Kandi, its vice chairman, Manohar Nath Pandta and co-convener Shadi Lal Pandita, N C Minority Cell chief, M K Yogi, Sanjay Raina of LJSP, Manoj Kumar, Comrade Mohan Lal, migrant camp representatives from Purkhoo Muthi, Buta Nagar, Nagrota and Jagti Daya Krishan, T N Koul, Ashok Dhar, Ravinder Raina, B L Hangloo, overaged relief holders representatives ,Sundri Lal Koul, Ravidner Koul, Ramesh Ji, B L Bhat of Migrant Welfare Committee, Abdul Qayoom and others of Muslim Migrant Welfare Committee besides the temple committee representatives from Tulmula, Logripora, Tikker, Devsar etc.
