Migrants delegation calls on RRC, highlights problems

JAMMU, Dec 15: A delegation led by M.K.Yogi president NC Minority Cell and Vinod Pandita a socio political activist today called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Migrants, Ashok Pandita and discussed in length many genuine and pertinent problems being faced by the community in exile both at Jammu and Kashmir with him.
In a joint statement issued by them, they said that a threadbare discussion on the problems like long pending Ayushman Card issue of Udhampur migrants, ensuring regular supply of sugar quota for Udhampur migrants, issues of ORT migrants of Purkhoo, electricity, water and maintenance of all camps in J&K, enhancement of monthly cash assistance, checking posts on the entry and exit points in Jagti besides, accommodation issue of PM package employees living on rent were discussed.
They appealed Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner to work as a bridge between migrants and other Government departments for mitigation of their problems for which the institution has been solely established.
They also appealed him to visit Udhampur and listen to the problems of 400 registered migrants there as no officer has visited Udhampur till date to enquire their all round well being.
Deputy Commissioner, Relief, Devender Singh was also present in the meeting.
