JAMMU, Feb 4: A delegation of Save Kashmiri Migrant Property Movement today called on Minister of State for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, with independent charge, Aijaz Ahmed Khan and Commissioner Secretary Revenue, Vinod Koul here today and demanded removal of encroachment from migrants immovable property including the land.
The delegation was led by the president of the organization Vijay Raina. It stressed on implementation of J&K Migrant Immovable Property Act in letter and spirit. It alleged though DCs are the custodians of the property but they have failed to protect the left over property of migrants in Valley.
It alleged that a sale deed on the name of a migrant was made in 2010 when the person had died in 2007 and in most of the cases mutation of land records was done without the knowledge of the owners.
The Minister assured the delegation that a detailed report in this connection will be sought from the concerned DCs.
