Migrants of Kralgund reiterate demand for removal of garbage shed from Asthapan

JAMMU, Oct 17: The residents of Kralgund, Kupwara have expressed their grave concern over the construction of garbage shed by the Rural Development Department (RDD) at the land of Ganesh Asthapan in the village and said that their religious sentiments have been hurt by this act of the Department.
The residents of the village who have left the Valley during the mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in 1989-90 said that despite repeated pleas to the authorities no steps were taken to restore the land to this sacred religious place by removing the garbage shed from the area.
In a statement Bushan Lal Kanth and Pushkar Nath the residents of the village said that despite the clear cut instructions of the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir though his letter Number Div.Com/Mig 430/7290041/ 832-33of September 25 the clear cut instructions were given to the District Development Commissioner, Kupwara while quoting the letter of migrants that their religious place has been encroached by the Block Development Officer (BDO) Kupwara. The Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir has urged the DC Kupwara to verify the matter and take appropriate action in this regard but nothing has been done till date.
The Pandit Baradri of the village has reiterated their appeal to Divisional Commissioner urging him to get the garbage shed from the Asthapan site removed immediately to restore the sanctity of this religious place. They also demanded development of the shrine and adjoining Ashram of Swami Kral Bab in the village.
