JAMMU, July 18: Kashmiri migrants have expressed grave concern over the dismantling of the TRT quarters of the migrants at Nagrota without prior information to the inmates of these quarters whose house hold goods were still lying there and which have been completely damaged.
In a joint statement president Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC),advocate M L Thusu its convener P L Koul Badgami and president All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee Desh Rattan have criticized the JDA for demolishing the quarters at Nagrota camp without prior information to the migrants or Relief Organization so that the people who had their house hold goods and material in these quarters could have taken the same out.
They said instead of allotting new quarters to these hapless people who are facing many hardships in exile for last 28 years, the authorities put then to further loss and their step  tantamount to highhandedness.
They in an appeal to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Deputy Chief Minster, Dr Nirmal Singh demanded action against the officers responsible for dismantling the quarters. They said that the migrants had not forcibly occupied these quarters but they were constructed for them and they were putting up there for decades together. They demanded that the people be compensated for the loss.
