Migrants warn agitation against non availability of ration

JAMMU, Mar 4: Various migrant bodies have expressed concern over the non availability of ration in Jagti and other camps and warned agitation in case the ration and sugar was not supplied by tomorrow at Jagti camp.
Kashmiri Welfare Committee (KWC) Jagti in its meeting today warned to stage a protest demonstration in case ration was not supplied at ration ghats of Jagti by tomorrow. They said it is the callousness of the Government that there is no ration, and sugar available at ration Ghats at Jagti on the holy festival of Maha Shivratri. They said that this is for the first time that no ration was made available on the holy festival of Maha Shivratri. The meeting was chaired by Vijay Kaul and C L Pandita , A K Kaul, Rajesh Kumar and Vinod Kaul also attended it. Meanwhile relief holders led by Sunil Pandita also warned to hold agitation in case ration was not supplied by CAPD by tomorrow in all camps and non camp localities of migrants. Pandita has made an appeal to Governor N N Vohra in this regard.
A protest demonstration was held at Migrant Camp Muthi by the camp inmates this evening against the non availability of ration on the occasion of Maha Shivratri falling on March 6. They also rejected the quota of ration given under NFSA and said that the relief holders can’t be brought under the category and be given free ration as per old scale.
Meanwhile, JTC president, Shadi Lal Pandita while rejecting the imposition of NFSA on migrants said that the displaced people under relief category be given ration on old scale till they are in exile. He also made a dig at CAPD authorities for delaying supply of ration and alleged at ration ghats at Jagti and other camps. He demanded immediate release of ration to migrants and revoking of decision of applying NFSA to the displaced people. He also made an appeal to Governor asking him to issue a directive to authorities to supply ration of February and March immediately.
Samajwadi Party Migrant Cell leader, Inder Ji Labroo has also demanded that migrants be provided ration as per old scale and not under NFSA as migrants are neither in BPL nor APL category.
