JAMMU : A mild intensity earthquake today hit the mountainous belts across Jammu region.
“Jolts were felt when a mild intensity earthquake this evening hit the mountainous Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and Udhampur districts of Jammu region,” an official here said.
He said that the earthquake was of 4.6 magnitude on the Richter scale occurred this evening at 1900 hrs, latitude 33.3 North and longitude 75.8 East with depth 18-kms.
However, panic gripped these belts and people rushed out of their houses.
“No report of any damage or loss of life has been reported so far from across the region,” said official. (AGENCIES)
