Militant associate held with 10 grenades

Srinagar, Oct 29: Police today arrested a militant associate in Pulwama district of South Kashmir and recovered 10 grenades from his possession.

“On 29th October, based on inputs about an imminent terror attack in Pulwama town, a joint naka of Pulwama SOG, 55 RR and CRPF 182 Bn, was laid in the evening hours at the Circular Road, Pulwama,” a police spokesman said.
He said that during checking, one Danish Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad of Dangerpora, Pulwama, who was travelling on his scooty, was asked to stop at the naka on the circular road and search was made.
“Upon checking, 10 live grenades and 5 batteries were found to be in his possession which were carefully wrapped and kept in the under seat of the scooty,” he said.
“Cognizance of the said recovery has been taken and case FIR no. 224/2024 u/s 18, 39 UAPA, ¾ Explosives Act, and the said suspect was arrested. Further investigation into this matter is going on, more arrests are likely to take place”.
