Militant hideout busted, arms and ammunition recovered in Kashmir

SRINAGAR : Security forces unearthed a militant hideout and recovered war like stores in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.
Defence Ministry spokesman Lt Colonel N N Joshi said here today that a joint operation was launched by troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Jammu and Kashmir police in general area in Langate following a tip-off about a militant  hideout.
He said immediately a search operation was launched despite very bad weather in the area during which a militant hideout was busted.
The war like stores recovered from the hideout included one ak rifle, two magazines, 58 rounds of ammunition, 18 UBGL grenade, snow blankets, pherans, mufflars, socks, balaclava, hand gloves, pathani suits, lighters and  tarpaulin.
However, no one was arrested.
This bursting of hideout and recovery of war like stores will further dent the morale of militants, Lt Col Joshi said adding Gen Gurmit Singh, Chinar Corps Commander has congratulated the troops of the Army and JKP who were involved in the operation. (AGENCIES)
