Srinagar, Nov 30: One militant was killed in an encounter with security forces at Arihal area of Pulwama district this evening.
An official said that one militant has been killed in the operation that was launched by the Police, Army and CRPF on specific information about the presence of terrorists in the Arihal area of Pulwama.
He said that as the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.
Meanwhile, security forces today busted a Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) module and arrested two militant associates of the outfit along with arms in Handwara.
“Handwara Police along with teams of Army and CRPF busted a militant module of LeT/TRF and recovered arms from Tutigund forest on disclosure of militant associates Parvaiz Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Rustum Dar and Showkat Ahmad Shergujri son of Ghulam Mohammad Shergujri, both residents of Tutigund Handwara”, read a statement issued by police.
“A case vide FIR number 264/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations taken up”, the statement read adding more arrests and recoveries are expected in the case.
