JAMMU : A policeman was killed and six others injured when a group of militants attacked a police station in Rajbagh area of Kathua district.
“Militants attacked Rajbagh Police Station of Kathua early this morning,” police spokesperson here said. He said one constable has been reportedly killed and six others got injured in the attack.
“The militants are hiding inside the police station building and a fierce encounter is in progress,” he said. Army has also been called in while choppers are conducting recce in the area.
Jammu-Pathankot National Highway has been closed for the traffic, police said.
Rajbagh Police Station is situated 13 km away from the international border.
