SRINAGAR : A Road Opening Party (ROP) of security forces was attacked by militants at Handwara in the frontier district of Kupwara, where a massive operation is going on in the Lolab woods for the past one week.
Official sources said militants fired upon a ROP at Handwara today.
Security forces exercised retrained, they said, adding that the entire area has been cordoned off and launched a massive hunt to nab the attackers.
Meanwhile, security forces continued search operation against militants in the woods at Lolab in the Kupwara district.
One of the four militants, which were reportedly seen in the woods, was killed on the first day, they said, adding that no fresh contact was established with the militants.
