Mind-body education helps irritable bowel syndrome

NEW YORK, Dec 13: Patients who go through a mind-body educational course are better able to manage irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), according to a new study. The benefits of the course were modest, about as large as what are typically seen from taking medications, said Dr. Emeran Mayer, the senior author of the study and a professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Medicine.
