JAMMU, May 1: The occupants of a mini-bus had a narrow escape as the vehicle they were traveling in caught fire after hitting electric pole near Bikram Chowk, falling under the jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar police station.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK02AL-7075 was on its way to Jammu, when the driver lost control over the steering and the vehicle hit an electric pole near Bikram Chowk. After hitting the electric pole, the mini-bus caught fire.
On getting information, police team from Gandhi Nagar police station rushed to the spot and fire fighters were pressed into service to douse the flames.
After hectic efforts, the fire was brought under control but till then the mini-bus was damaged.
No casualty or injury has been reported in the incident.
Police has taken cognizance in this regard.
