JAMMU, Oct 24: Atleast 18 factory workers were injured, two of them seriously, when the mini-bus they were traveling in skidded off the road and turned turtle near Patli Morh area, falling under the jurisdiction of Bari-Brahmana Police Station.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK02AB-6186 carrying workers of a Medicinal Factory was on its way to Patli Morh from Ambphalla, when the driver lost control over the steering, resulting the vehicle turning turtle near Patli Morh, causing grievous injuries to 18 persons. The accident took place due to driver’s negligence, as he was driving the vehicle rashly.
On getting information, police party from Bari-Brahmana Police Station along with locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. All the injured were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in police and other vehicles, where their condition was stated to be stable, when last reports came in.
The injured have been identified as Sej Ram, Sandeep, Saleem, Sohail, Monkia, Ridhav, Daljeet , Salochna, Heena, Varsha, Asif, Kishore Kumar, Abdul Saleem, Balkrishan, Nanju Sharma, Lakhwinder, Munish and Shakti Singh.
A case under FIR number 96/13 has been registered at Bari Brahmana Police Station and manhunt has been launched to arrest the driver, who fled from the spot after the incident.
However, the driver was at large when reports were compiled.
