Mini Bus Union supports “Chakka Jam” call on Apr 17

AKHNOOR, Apr 9: Mini Bus Operator Union Akhnoor today organised  an urgent meeting at Akhnoor in which they unanimously decided to support the “Chakka Jam” strike call given by the All J&K Transport Association on April 17.
The Mini Bus Operator gathered during meeting raised slogans in favour of their demands and condemned the Government attitude towards their grievances.
Som Dutt Sharma, chairman Mini Bus Operator Union Akhnoor said that transporters are demanding reopening of fitness certificate and renewal of route permits for all passenger commercial vehicles which has been halted due to passenger tax from 01-04-2023 and release of arrears on account of 37% hike vide JKRTC/GML/Sgr/1003 dated 10-11-2021 under SRO 157 in freight charges for goods carriers engaged by the JKRTC. The file is doing rounds in the CAPD, he regretted.
Dutt further alleged that the Government is doing step northerly treatment with private commercial transporters as they are even denied their stands in Jammu Bus Stand. He alleged that the Government is hell bent upon to bring private transporters on knees.
Addressing further Ajeet Singh president Mini Bus Operator Union Akhnoor resented the illegal operation of e-Rikshaws and e-Autos in J&K UT and sought re-analyzation of the MORTH proposal of running e-Rikshaws and e-Autos. He said association is strongly opposing rapid increase in fitness fee for all commercial vehicles. He said the order for the collection of Passenger Tax on quarterly basis of all passenger commercial vehicles is still pending.
Mini Bus Operator Union  members further declared their full support to April 17, strike call given by the All J&K Transport Welfare Association.
