JAMMU, Sept 17: Mini Bus Workers Union has urged upon the Regional Transport authorities to  identify and fix the passengers  dropping and picking up points in the winter capital city as already directed the J&K High Court on its directive on June 29, 2016.
President of the Union, Darshan Mehra in a communiqué to the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dy Commissioner Jammu, SSP Traffic and SSP Jammu has said that Regional  Transport  authorities have yet to fix the slots/ points to drop and pick up the passengers  and their proposal to colour such spots has not been witnessed. Therefore, the Mini-bus drivers have no option than to drop and pick up passengers at different places.
Mehra further claimed that as per Traffic rule to  paint vehicles is costly affair and may cost around Rs 40,000 to the owners. They are unable to bear such a huge burden. They should be allowed to paint just 6 inch Patti on the body.  He also demanded that only Mini-Bus Stand at Panjtirthi occupied by the JMC be got vacated and provided for the Mini-Bus stoppage.
