SAMBA, June 24: The Mini Buses Union today held meeting at Vijaypur and demanded special package for mini bus owners.
The meeting was organized under the supervision of Matador Union, chief, Raghuveer Singh Bagal in which large number of mini bus owners, drivers and conductors were present. During the meeting, they said that they will not run mini buses until they are given special package by the Government.
Union head Raghuveer Singh Bagal in his address said that all the matador owners have been put to heavy loss during three months lockdown. “As we followed fully all the guidelines and SOPS so we should be given a special package soon so that we can get our vehicles repaired which remained idle for three months”, he added.
He made an appeal to Lt Governor of J&K, G C Murmu in this regard and sought his immediate intervention in the matter.
He said that matadors which remained idle for three months and parked in the residential compounds of owners have developed many defects and for the repairs of each matador over Rs 50,000 are needed so that they can be made capable for operation on roads. The owners have no money with them as they remained idle for three months hence without a package from the Government they are unable to start the service, he added.
He said if the Government does not accept demands immediately, they will be left with no alternative but to come to streets and protest against the Government. Ashok Chaudhary, Mintu Singh, Jeevan Singh and others were also present.
