POONCH, Aug 14: Ground floor of Mini Secretariat complex will be made operational by December-2015, while Rs 3 crore stands disbursed as land compensation among the land owners, whose land was acquired for the purpose.
This information was given to the Minister for R&B, Gardens Parks and Floriculture, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, who is also the Chairman of District Development Board, Poonch while inspecting ongoing work of the complex.
Deputy Chairman Legislative Council, Jahangir Hussain Mir, MLA, Shah Mohammad Tantray, Deputy Commissioner, Poonch Nisar Ahmad, Chief Engineer, R&B, Jammu, Director Floriculture besides senior officers of other department accompanied the Minister.
The Minister was informed that Rs. 10 crore stands expended on the project so far, out of total estimated cost of Rs. 18.32 crore and work is going to be completed on time.
The Minister asked executing agency to expedite work on the project and ensure its early completion.
The Minister along with the team also visited Krishan Chandar and Parade parks and took stock of the facilities available for the public. The Minister asked concerned authorities to get both the parks renovated besides install LED lights and recreational facilities for children. He asked them to construct rain shelter facilities in Parade Park for old aged persons visiting the park. The authorities of Floriculture department were also instructed to install adequate number of benches in the parks for the comfort of the people.
MLC Jahangir Hussain Mir agreed to provide Rs 2 lakh for creation of the rain shelter in Parade Park out of his Constituency Development Fund.
Syed Altaf said that Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Syeed is keen to have these parks developed on modern lines and has issued certain instructions while chairing District Development Board meeting recently.
