RAMBAN, May 13: Eighteen passengers including eight women and a minor today sustained injuries after a minibus in which they were travelling overturned near Dalwass here on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Police sources informed that the vehicle bearing registration number JK02A-8018 was rashly driven.
They said that after the accident rescue teams of Police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to District Hospital Ramban where condition of all the injured was stated out of danger.
The injured were identified as Rashid, 9, son of Mohammad Shabnam, resident of Ramban; Mohammad Tahir, 20, son of Mohd Shakeel, resident of Sana; Kulveer Singh, 34, son of Brig Lal, resident of Chenani; Charan Das, 37, son of Chour Singh, resident of Maitra; Manzoor Ahmed, 24, son of Abdullah, resident of Dalwas; Basu, 43, son of Naryan, resident of Udhampur; Mohammad Haroon, 35, son of Habib- Ullah, resident of Bihar; Abdul Qayoom, 55, son of Rustam Khan, resident of Doda; Sanju Kumar, 38, son of Shankar Dass, resident of Udhampur; Suram Chand, 30, son of Punjab Chand, resident of Karma; Saira Begum, 50, wife of Fayaz Ahmed, resident of Nashri; Shama Begum, 55, wife of Abdullah, resident of Dhalwas; Usha Devi, 30, wife of Charan Dass, resident of Maitra; Sharda Devi, 50, wife of Omkar Singh, resident of Sawani; Pushpa Devi, 35, wife of Sandhur Singh, resident of Kumate; Preem Dai, 60, wife of Late Punjabu, resident of Karma; Mumtaz Begum, 37 wife of Mohammad Ashraf, resident of Tatarsoo and Misra Begum, 30, wife of Mohammad Shaban, resident of Taratsoo.
Police has registered a case in this regard in FIR No. 85 of 2023, Under Section 279/337 IPC at Police Station Chanderkote for further investigations.
