JAMMU, Dec 1: SOS International, an organization of PoK refugees has lambasted Jammu Ministers for befooling refugees over the issue of package.
In a press statement issued today, Rajiv Chuni chairman of the organization said while package after package are being announced to Kashmiri migrants and even those who have no stakes in Valley are being are being extended the incentives, there is no taker of the PoK refugees who have been suffering for the last sixty five years. He said despite pitiable condition of these refugees, who have been suffering since their forced migration from their homes and hearths in the Pak occupied Kashmir during partition, the successive Governments in the State and Centre did not extend them a helping hand but only lip service.
Mr Chuni pointed out that so far Central Govt has spent Rs 25,000 crore on the relief and rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants but not even a single penny for the PoK refugees has been provided. They are running from pillar to post. They are being befooled not only by the successive Governments but also by the Jammu Ministers as well on the name of Rs 7000 crore package. He said no stake holder from refugee community was ever consulted on the issue.
