JAMMU, Oct 21: Former Union Minister and Pradesh Congress Committee president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz has said that Union Finance Minister P Chidambram’s opinion on accession cannot be final word of the Congress Party and on the issue of accession party’s stand was very clear.
Speaking to the media-persons at a function organized at the party headquarters on the joining of some senior PDP and NC leaders Prof Soz said Cong Party’s stand on accession was very clear. He dismissed the claims of Union Minister and senior NC leader Dr Farooq Abdullah and his son Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that accession was not final and also the support accorded to Union Finance Minister and top Congress leader,  P Chidambram  and maintained Chidambram’s opinion is not the final word of the Congress party.  There was no dispute at all and  the accession was full and final. Moreover, as per his knowledge Chidambram has never endorsed NC leader’s claim.
Replying to another question he said there was no double  standard of the party on this issue. Chidambram may have his own perception or opinion on it but his opinion can not be a binding on every one in the party. If  he says something on this issue as PCC chief, it should be considered as party stand.
