Ministers visit residence of deceased Sarpanch

PULWAMA, Apr 9: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar, Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo, Minister of State for Home, Sajad Ahmad Kichloo, Minister of State for PHE & Irrigation Nazir Ahmad Gurezi along with District Development Commissioner, Pulwama, Shafat Noor and MLA Amira Kadal, Nasir Aslam Wani visited the residence of deceased Sarpanch Ghulam Mohammad Lone of Kulapora, Lassipora, who was killed by unidentified gunman yesterday evening.
The Ministers conveyed their heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
They handed over a cheque of Rs 1 lakh as ex-gratia relief to the next of kins of the deceased. The Ministers directed the District Development Commissioner Pulwama to issue appointment order in favour of the legal heir of the deceased under SRO-43 at an earliest.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sagar condemned the act and said such inhuman acts cannot derail the efforts of Government for bringing the normalcy and peace in the State and said that the people of the State wisely thwarted the game plan of these elements who wanted to disturb the peace and tranquillity in the State. He said that the present Government is well-wisher of the people and taking all efforts to bring normalcy in the State.
