NEW DELHI, Sept 24: Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha has appealed the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt of India, to provide special package to flood ravaged J&K, so that the affected people are properly compensated and rehabilitated.
A 10 member delegation of Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha, led by Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal, State president, called on the Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Joel Oram, at New Delhi and submitted a memorandum seeking the special package.
“The initiative and prompt action of the Prime Minister is a welcome step, but the Ministry for Tribal Affairs, like other ministries, should also provide special package for the rain and flood affected people of the State”, Poswal demanded from the Union Minister.
He said, “The tribal communities have been hit worst, and as such, it is responsibility of the Ministry for Tribal Affairs to take care of the tribals as also of the other affected people”, Poswal demanded.
