KATHUA, June 6: A minor boy drowned in Ravi canal today while taking a bath.
As per report, a minor boy of 12 year of age identified as Munna, son of Dev Raj and resident of Govindsar, near, here taking bath in Ravi canal in the village. He slipped into the canal and drowned in deep water. After the intervention of Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Rohit Khajuria, the canal water was plugged from pumping station and search operation was launched.
A team of SDRF and local police started search operation and recover the dead body few metres away from the incident site. Police started investigation and registered a case under relevant sections of the law.
In another incident a young woman was killed in road accident which took place at Phinter in Billawer tehsil. As per police report ,a 55 year old women identified as Rani Devi, resident of Basholi was hit by unknown motorcycle at Phinter Chowk. The seriously injured women was referred to GMC Jammu after first aid from Billawer Hospital. She succumb to her injuries at GMC. The police registered a case and started manhunt to nab the absconding biker.
