RAJOURI, July 20: A minor boy was found murdered and dumped in an abandoned and shabby room near stadium Siora area of Rajouri town while a youth committed suicide by hanging at his residence at Nagrota village in district Rajouri today.
The police said the dead body of 13-year-old Mohd Asif, son of Mohd Sadiq, resident of Siora was found lying in a semi-broken room near local stadium this morning. The boy went missing last evening and the family members and his friends were looking for him. They traced the body dumped inside the room. The body wore injury marks on head and some marks of rope on his throat. A rope was also lying nearby in the room.
The locals informed police and a police party led by SHO reached the spot. They examined the spot with the help of FSL experts and then shifted the body to hospital for postmortem. The police registered a murder case and started investigation. The family members told police that boy had gone for playing in the stadium last evening and did not return.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old youth namely Tanveer Ahmed, son of Ghulam Abbas, resident of Nagrota in Rajouri committed suicide by hanging at his residence today. The parents found the boy hanging from the ceiling fan hook with the help of a rope and then rushed him to district hospital. The doctors declared him as brought dead. The police was also informed about the matter. It registered a case and started investigation. The cause behind this extreme step could not be known immediately.
