RAMBAN, Dec 12: A minor boy died and his other five family members fell ill following suspected food poisoning in Ashmar, Sangaldan area of Gool today.
Police and family sources said the family of Mohammad Yousaf fell unconscious after eating meals last night at village Ashmar, Sangaldan.
Monday morning some neighbours noticed them unconscious at their home and informed police which shifted them to PHC, Sangaldan where 14 years old Manzoor Ahmed son of Salamdin resident of Bajmasta Sumber was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
Other five family members were referred to District Hospital Ramban from PHC Sangaldan where their condition was stated out of danger and they were Barkat Ahmed, 30, son of Mohammad Yousaf; Naseema Begum, 60, wife of Mohammed Yousaf; Mohammad Yousaf, 65, son of Mahendia; Safora Begum, 25, wife of Barkat Ali and Shabir Ahmed, 10, son of Barkat Ahmed-all residents of Ashmar, Famrote, Sangaldan.
After post-mortem the dead body of the minor was handed over to his legal heirs.
