SAMBA, Apr 30: Fire broke out on First Floor of Under construction OPD Block of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, (AIIMS) Vijaypur near here, today.
As per the officials the fire broke out due to welding as Air Conditioning work was going on in the area.
The officials said the AC material caught fire however the Fire Service Department was immediately informed and Fire Tender reached in time on the spot to control the fire.
The officials further said that with the arrival of Fire Tender the blaze was doused and there was no loss or injury to workers.
Dr Shakti Gupta, Executive Director and CEO AIIMS Jammu said “I will review the SOPs tomorrow morning along with CPWD and contractor, M/S Ahluwalia and submit the report”. He said the fire was minor which was controlled immediately with the efforts of the staff and in time arrival of fire tender.
